Montreal stole my heart

My second trip to Montreal showed me why so many of my friends love it so much.

The Plateau is the neighborhood that made me fall for it. Colorful facades, flowery balconies and bikes everywhere. The streets are line shops you can not resist stepping in and boulangeries that smell so good you want to have breakfast five times a day. I loved most the stores names… The adorable, yet completely non understandable French accent makes me melt – and creates confusion because I don’t understand more than 40% of what is said!

Eglise St-Jean Baptiste welcomed us with a beautiful a cappella rehearsal for a wedding later that day and  a lady in the back of the pew who thought we were guests told us all about the bride and groom before we left.

Carré St.-Louis invited us to sit down and observe the city from a distance before taking off for an afternoon adventure w new friends.

I could have spent hours at the Jean-Talon Market and loved taking the time to pick the perfect ingredients for our daughter’s 3rd birthday dinner.
